Work

Five concept sites I designed and built from briefs I wrote, for brands that don’t exist. Three are complete pages and two are hero concepts, the first screen only. Each one works on a phone and a desktop, and each has its own idea to try. The three complete pages each come with the stats page their client would get, shown here with sample data.

01

Maison Arlès

A private invitation to see a luxury leather boutique in Ginza before it opens.

  • Move across the leather to catch the light
  • Stamp your initials in gold, palladium or blind
  • Book an hour with the artisan

Leather, stitching and embossing are drawn live in the browser, no photos.

02

Maison Verlaine

A campaign game for a cognac house, behind the QR code on every neck tag.

  • Swirl the glass: gently, steadily or hard, for three sets of aromas
  • Play three cards to find your cocktail
  • Watch it poured, then find the nearest bar

The cognac is simulated in real time.

03

Cidrerie du Pays d'Auge

A brand site for a heritage cider maker launching in Tokyo.

  • Scroll to walk into the orchard
  • Drag a barrel through eight months of fermentation
  • Find where it pours on a map of Tokyo

Every illustration is drawn in code, in the manner of a Japanese woodblock print.

Hero concepts

Two brand sites taken as far as their first screen: one idea from the brand’s own ritual, built so you can use it. The rest of each site isn’t built, and each page says it’s a concept.

04

Maré Baixa

A surf school in Carcavelos that times every lesson to the tide.

  • Drag the tide out until lessons come on
  • Watch the group paddle out into the soft whitewater

The beach, the sea and the boards are drawn in code. The first screen only.

Oda Lindqvist Architects

A Tokyo architecture office that spends a day on your plot before drawing anything.

  • Drag the sun through 21 December and log the light, hour by hour
  • Switch to another sample plot: a 3.5m frontage, a corner cut by the road

The sun is computed for Tokyo on the day; the block and its shadows are drawn in code. The first screen only.

Have a page like these in mind for a client?

I take on single pages and small sites, from the idea to the last pixel. Tell me about the brief.
